Tornadoes and Coaches Dave and Rob November 2013

Collins Reinforcements Ltd are very pleased to have been able to support Astley & Tyldesley Under 9s Junior Football team called the Tornadoes by funding their kit for the 2013/2014 session.

Malcolm Collins’s son Lucas enjoyed playing for the team all session in a variety of positions including goalie, defence and midfield. This session he hasn’t scored himself and longs for the day he scores for his team, hopefully this will come next session. The team has worked very hard under the supervision of head coach Dave and assistant coach Rob, who we wish to thank for volunteering their time to help the children.

The Tornadoes have had mixed fortunes this session with tough matches some going in their favour others not but it has been exciting at times to see their determination when they have pushed and attacked during the second half of a match after going behind in the first half. Over the past year as a parent Malcolm has enjoyed watching the kids grow, improve their football skills and ability to work as a team.

We would like to wish the Tornadoes all the best for the up and coming session.

Winter Snow

13th Feb 2013

Some heavy snow conditions today at Collins Reinforcements making the unloading of a load of A393 mesh more difficult than normal.

I just thought I would share this picture of our 7 tonne fork lift truck, driven by Ian battling in the snow.

Youthful Marketing…

We like to see young Lucas Collins’s enthusiasm to improve Collins Reinforcement’s sales at the tender age of 7. This is his first marketing idea, probably influenced by his shopping at Asda with mum. We don’t think we will be able to adopt this particular promotion but enjoyed reading it and are happy to share it with you all.

“Wear it Pink day” in aid of Breast Cancer Research 26th October 2012.

Above is a picture of the Collins family and office staff supporting the “Wear it Pink” Day.

Tracy decided the company would take part in the “Wear it Pink Day” and raise funds for Breast Cancer. She arranged some office events including a raffle and guess the pink superhero game to raise money. The raffle was drawn and the results of the game were given on 26th October the “Wear it Pink Day”. To boost donations Malcolm set himself the challenge to run 2 marathons in 2 days wearing pink, Snowdonia marathon 27th and Preston 28th October. He finished the tough Snowdonia marathon in 3 hours 27 minutes 18 seconds and Preston in 3 hours 43 minutes 35 seconds.

Above is him coming into the finish of the Snowdonia marathon.

Christmas, Past and Present

Merry Christmas from all of us at Collins Reinforcements Ltd and welcome to our first Blog post. Hopefully the first of many interesting articles for our customers and anyone curious enough to want to know what we are up to.

I thought I would use this first post to introduce you to the office team. As it is Christmas we have just had the customary office party. This year we went to Haydock Race Course for a Vegas themed night. We enjoyed a lovely traditional Christmas meal, a bit of Casino gambling albeit with pretend dollars and a spot of dancing. A good night enjoyed by all.

During the night we had a photo taken by a photographer which I thought would be to post and allow me to introduce the team to you so you can put a face to a name. Read More
